How Do I Unsubscribe or Change my E-mail Address?

By Anne Marie Helmenstine, Ph.D., About.com

Question: How Do I Unsubscribe or Change my E-mail Address?

Answer: About Chemistry offers a weekly site newsletter as well as e-courses. I often get requests to have e-mail addresses changed or to unsubscribe a reader from a particular newsletter or course. Unfortunately, these are changes that a reader must make herself/himself. I don't have access to my newsletter subscriber lists and I am unable to personally change email addresses for my subscribers. However, I can tell you what you need to do to unsubscribe or to change your address:

Each newsletter (or class) has an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of each email. All you need to do is click the link. Presto... you're unsubscribed! If you want to change an address, first unsuscribe under your present address and then re-subscribe under your new email address. OR, you can just subscribe under your new addy. After the newsletter "bounces" a few times at the old address, that address automatically gets deleted from the subscriber base.
