How To Make Your Own Lickable Stickers

By Anne Marie Helmenstine, Ph.D., About.com

This is a recipe for non-toxic sticker glue.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 15 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Mix the unflavored gelatin and water in the saucepan.
  2. Stir over medium heat until the gelatin is dissolved.
  3. Add the peppermint extract and allow to cool.
  4. Paint a thin layer (suggest a pastry brush or small, clean paintbrush) on the back of any picture. Allow to dry.
  5. Lick and stick!

Tips:

  1. Another extract besides peppermint could be used, probably at the 1/2 tsp level.
  2. Adult supervision please! Hot liquids involved.

What You Need:

  • 4 envelopes gelatin
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • small saucepan
  • pictures for sticking
